The Rubel Brothers, or the Rubel Frères, had emigrated from Paris to New York with the Van Cleef & Arpels family, and were the jewelers who brought to life the famous ballerina designs, with the seemingly weightless rose-cut diamond dancers that best came to symbolize the designs of the Retro period.
