Daum Nancy "Nénuphars" Cameo Glass Vase

$19,500

The highly complex composition in this "Nénuphars," or "Water Lilies," cameo glass vase, by Daum Nancy, features the titular flower in various stages of bloom, as well as in various degrees of relief and coloration. The opalescent glass body of the vase is decorated with wheel-carved orange and brown water lilies, some brightly colored and in deep relief, others in such shallow relief and gossamer coloration as to almost avoid detection. Each of the flowers, caught in their varied states of maturity, is cast against a blue martelé ground.
